This is a passive monitoring service that tests your Web port at 5-minute intervals. This does not generate any network traffic. If ping fails, our monitoring service will notify us and we will reboot the server.

If your Web port fails, you will be notified via e-mail and should contact ZiD.com to have Apache or IIS restarted.
ZiD PortWatch Plus Service ($10 per month+ $10 set-up)
As with the Basic Service, if ping fails, we will restart your server. If your Web port fails, you will be notified via e-mail and should contact ZiD.com to have Apache or IIS restarted. Our PortWatch Plus Service also allows you to choose up to 6 additional ports to have monitored for a flat monthly fee. If any of these ports should fail, our monitoring service will notify you immediately via e-mail. You should then contact our experienced technical staff in order to have repairs carried out according to support policy that you selected when ordering your dedicated server.

Choose to monitor up to 6 of the following ports as part of our ZiD PortWatch Plus (all protocols are on their standard ports):
 

  • HTTP
  • HTTPS
  • DNS
  • Telnet
  • MS-SQL

  • SMTP
  • POP3
  • FTP
  • SSH
 
ZiD ServiceWatch Service (NT Only) ($25 per month + $25 setup fee)
ServiceWatch is deigned to monitor NT service running on your NT dedicated server. Our system will verify every 10 minutes up to 10 services on your server. Should any of the service be crashes or is stopped, our system will try to restart the service. It will attempt to restart the service 5 times. As soon as any of the services monitored are stopped, you will be notified by email of the problem. You should then contact our experienced technical staff in order to have repairs carried out according to support policy that you selected when ordering your dedicated server.
