With every dedicated server plan, ZiD will back-up your server one a week using our network backup software to our central tape system. A set tape rotation is in place with tapes stored in a fireproof safe and off-site storage for monthly tapes. Our software will try to back-up all open files, but if you have applications or databases that are permanently in use, we have special open-files add-on software that will attempt to back-up these up. If you are using your own version of MS-SQL, Exchange or Lotus Domino, special add-on software is required in order to ensure that special application files are back up correctly.
For clients needing
a higher frequency of back-ups or using special software, we offer the
following options to our plans.
A complete weekly back up is done to our central tape back-up unit, and all files that have been modified since the back up are sent to our central tape unit every day. This provides good level of security and quick restore of modified files.

Your own tape
drive
You can choose to have a tape back-up drive installed on your system.
This allows you to have your own back-up schedule and media. We offer
two choices depending on your configuration. An IDE based tape drive
or a SCSI based. You can choose to use the tape back up software included
in your operating system, or use a licensed version of NovaStore's Novanet
back-up software.
